History

A small group of believers gathered on Sunday, June 22,1980, for worship at the home of Ben and Martha Viselli. They held their first organizational meeting on Sunday, July 13, 1980, where they discussed their future. Revelation 3:8 was chosen as their theme verse: “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door…” Thus, this new group of believers became the Open Door Bible Church and were so incorporated on July 19, 1980.   They continued to meet in the Viselli’s home until space was located and renovated in Highspire, PA on the second floor above the Handy Market. They met there from October of 1981 until October of 1992, when the present building in Middletown was completed. Dedication of the present facility occurred on November 1, 1992.
